We will use a bunch of different fitness accessories (ladders, hoops, tennis balls) and make fun different obstacle courses using all different exercises. 
 
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM    Yoga w/ Cheryl Miller - Yoga Magic
Yoga Magic (Ages 16+)Yoga Magic is everything you could ask for in a yoga class and is appropriate for practitioners at all levels. It incorporates grounding, movement, strength building, increasing flexibility, breath awareness, stillness and deep relaxation. Each class begins with a brief centering and grounding, followed by 20 or so minutes of slow vinyasa flow, then progressing into 20 or so minutes of long-held, passive Yin postures, and culminating with stillness during a guided meditation and extended savasana. This class is deeply restorative and magical. You should wear comfortable clothes that allow free movement and bring socks for the last part of class. Layers are always good and are recommended. Bring a mat, a blanket (or two), a cushion, pillow or bolster, and blocks if you have them.*Inclement Weather - Class will be moved inside or made up at the end of the session*

Beginners Watercolor (Ages 18+)These step by step relaxing instructional sessions are for those who have an interest in, but were too intimidated to begin their journey in Watercolor painting. Familiarity of supplies, color, techniques and various applications will be covered as we practice and create towards our final seasonal piece at our last session.  Themed Intermediate Watercolor (Ages 18+) These step by step instructional 3 session classes are geared towards the next level for a watercolor beginner or intermediate. Pickleball is a racquet sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer wiffleball.In our OPEN PLAY programs players are required to play with all skill levels and not cut in the paddle line.This program is for players who have played or have a complete understanding of rules and the sport.
 
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM    Fall Activities - Scarecrow Making
Join Parks & Recreation for some great family fun! We have Scarecrow making, Pumpkin decorating and our Halloween Monster Hunt on Main Street!   Scarecrow Making - OSPR provide the hay, all you need to bring are the clothes to stuff.Pumpkin Decorating - Bring a pumpkin and OSPR will provide paint, stickers, felt and props to make your very best pumpkin!Halloween Monster Hunt - Oh no, the monsters(10) are back on Main Street and we need your help to find them! Scoresheets can be found online or in the office. Each completed/returned scoresheet will receive a Halloween prize bag. Monsters on Main will run from October 11th - 30th! Prize bags can be picked up at OSPR beginning Saturday, October 18th.

Join the Woods & Trails Team - Tuesday, October 7th  Do you love to walk or run in the woods? Would you like to find some buddies with similar interests? Old Saybrook Parks & Rec is looking for walkers, runners, event leaders, and trail stewards who want to participate in our town’s 1600 acres of conserved, forested space. Join us at an organizational meeting to learn more and share your ideas, such as: A walking series for families with children(Treasure hunts, letterboxing, etc.), a walking series for trail stewardship, a trail runner series. Registration required.Walk & Work SeriesOld Saybrook contains 1600 acres of contiguous conservation land, surrounded by about 12 miles of trails. Join with like-minded locals this fall as we visit the loop in four segments of 3 miles each. In addition to walking, we’ll take notes on trail conditions and do some light trail clean-up. The series will finish on December 21, the Winter Solstice. Kids 8 and older are welcome to join. Bring water, work gloves, insect protection, and wear boots. Registration required. Location and parking instructions will be sent after registration. No dogs, please.
