The Teen Center is a drop-in program at the OSPR Recreation Center behind Town Hall and adjacent to the Old Saybrook Middle School.  It is a supervised setting where your child can interact with peers and develop social skills and relationships.  We have a wide variety of activities and games offered daily.  Members are able to use the Teen Center lounge and game tables, the gym, as well as the outside basketball courts and baseball field.Members may attend the Rec Monday-Thursday from 2:30pm-5:30pm, starting on Tuesday, September 3rd. 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM    High School Lacrosse - High School LAX Club
This Winter OSPR is running a drop in style Lacrosse league.  This league is for any student,male or female in grades 9th - 12th and will take place at the Rec.  It will be a fast pace, 3v3 pick up style league.  This is a non contact league, however participants will need gloves and helmets and or protective eye gear.
 
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM    Adult Basketball - 25+ Basketball
Adult basketball on Monday and Tuesday nights at the Rec. are free to Old Saybrook Residents, and residents may bring a guest for a $2 admission cost.  Pick-up style basketball starts at 7pm and goes till 8:30.  Monday nights is for the 18+ ball players and Tuesday night is reserved for the 25+ plus crowd.  For any questions please contact the Rec.

Ultimate Frisbee This fast paced sport is played like football except you don’t tackle and you use a Frisbee to score touchdowns!!  Learn to throw the Frisbee, pass to teammates, and how to score goals.  A great way to spend an afternoon.  Class lasts for 4 weeks and meets at the RecreationCenter.
 
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM    Sound Steppers at Goodwin - Sound Steppers at Goodwin
Looking for something fun and new to try... try Modern Western Square Dancing.  OSPR is now offering square dancing!  This fun and easy going program that is just as much social as it is physical.  There is skill progression learning new calls through the weeks.  This program meets in the cafeteria at Goodwin Elementary.

Join OSPR for our annual Adult Kickball League.  Games are played at the Rec. Center with some fun and interesting home court rules.  Only the Team Captain needs to register.  There will be a mandatory Captain's meeting before the season starts.  Each participant will need to sign a waiver in order to play.

Open to adults 30+ on Monday mornings at the Rec. Center. Pickleball is a racquet sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer wiffleball. All equipment is provided so be ready to have fun.

Gentle Yoga is a Vinyasa-based class which blends breath with movement, balancing gentle stretches and openings with invigorating poses. Modifications encourage mixed-level students to work to their personal edge. Focus of this class is on stress release and re-energizing of body and mind.  Class Taught by : Terri Cain, BFA, MA, MDiv, certified Kripalu Yoga instructor; has lead students for over 20 years. Inspiration for her yoga classes comes from her background in dance, intensive training in Dance Therapy and Movement Analysis with Irmgard Bartenieff, founder of the Laban Institute of Movement Studies, studies in the Alexander Technique, and an ongoing exploration of spirituality and the arts (Master of Divinity -Yale/ Institute of Sacred Music.) Terri teaches group and private yoga for all ages. She brings her yoga off the mat as President of Guilford Community TV, and as Founding Partner and Manager of the Hubbard Community Garden at the Medad Stone Tavern

We offer several programs throughout the year for children in grades K-4th Goodwin Elementary School and 5th-8th grade at The Rec to make some cool Arts-N-Crafts projects.  Each week we will make a new project to bring home and share with the whole family or put up on the fridge!!

HotShots Contest is a local basketball skill challenge sponsored by CT Recreation and Parks Association. This event is for Old Saybrook boys and girls ages 9-15. There will be 3 different age groups, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-15 years old. Each participant will have three, 1 minute rounds to shoot from designated "hotspots". Your three rounds are totaled and the highest score in each age group will move on to the state HotShots Contest, date Saturday, April 6th, here at the Rec Center.Please fill out a participation form for each participant. These forms can be brought to OSPR prior to the event or the day of.

Open gym afterschool at the Rec. is taking off to new heights.  For 5 weeks we will have pick up style basketball games, with Refs and scoreboards for two different divisions on seperate courts.  A great way to begin the March Maddness here at OPSRSneakers are required!
 
3:15 PM - 4:00 PM    ShiningStars - ShiningStars at Goodwin
This theatrical program will include highly structured Drama activities and games followed by rehearsals for our live production! Each class, we make sure that your child is having a fantastic time while developing essential life skills along the way. These classes build on each other, and working towards our big idea for the program. Each class will incorporate fun confidence building activities, games and rehearsals and a live production.

Open to 4th –8th grades. This 5 week Co-ed program will teach the basic skills needed to play the sport of street hockey. Class will feature skill building and game play. All equipment is provided. The games will be played in the Recreation Center.
 
3:45 PM - 4:30 PM    Softy Hockey - Softy Hockey
Your child can enjoy this program that will teach the basic skills needed to play the sport. Class will feature 20 minutes of skill building and 25 minutes of game play All equipment is provided. Sticks are soft for safety reasons. Players must wear non-marking white soled sneakers.

Every March, OSPR teams up with the coaches, managers and volunteers with Old Saybrook Little League to bring you spring training.  This four week program is geared to get you ready for the spring season and for our younger athletes to get you some extra practice before the season begins.All sessions are lead by OSLL coaches and managers.  All sessions take place at The Rec.

Children in grades 1 will be exposed to the basic skills required in the game of basketball. Learn dribbling, shooting, passing, teamwork and how to give the high five. Program meets for 5 weeks after school at Goodwin from 3:15—4:00PM.
 
3:00 PM - 3:45 PM    Indoor Soccer - Afterschool Indoor Soccer
Join OSPR for an afternoon of indoor, Futsal, Soccer at the Rec.  Right after school, for an hour in the gym, kids will get right into pick up style games and follow futsal, small sided rules.

OSPR is working to bring our high school athletes several opportunities throughout the year to work on their soccer skills or just have a good time with friends playing the world's most popular sport.  We have skill clinics and leagues, both indoor and outside, to keep everyone busy year round.Back for a 5th year is indoor futsal league.  This league will take place March through April.  Game Play - 5v5 (small sided, a lot of touches, skill development, fast pace games). We will use cones for goals which help with skill development and control as well as game strategy.In May we will have high school soccer skills clinics at The Rec.Also, in June we will start our outdoor summer league at Ferry Rd. and Maple Ave. Ball field.  This will be an 6 week league.  We will play pick up style, small sided play.   Make sure your email address is accurate and that you check it for league updates, rosters, schedules, etc.

Your child will sing along to some of the all time favorite songs while using some cool instruments like bells, drums, triangles, and more to find the rhythm and keep the beat. A great way for your child to learn to hear different sounds while interacting with other children. Students will even make thier own instruments to bring home. Class takes place at the Recreation Center.

This Winter OSPR is running a drop in style Lacrosse league.  This league is for any student,male or female in grades 9th - 12th and will take place at the Rec.  It will be a fast pace, 3v3 pick up style league.  This is a non contact league, however participants will need gloves and helmets and or protective eye gear.

OSPR is working to bring our high school athletes several opportunities throughout the year to work on their soccer skills or just have a good time with friends playing the world's most popular sport.  We have skill clinics and leagues, both indoor and outside, to keep everyone busy year round.Back for a 5th year is indoor futsal league.  This league will take place March through April.  Game Play - 5v5 (small sided, a lot of touches, skill development, fast pace games). We will use cones for goals which help with skill development and control as well as game strategy.In May we will have high school soccer skills clinics at The Rec.Also, in June we will start our outdoor summer league at Ferry Rd. and Maple Ave. Ball field.  This will be an 6 week league.  We will play pick up style, small sided play.   Make sure your email address is accurate and that you check it for league updates, rosters, schedules, etc.

Your child will sing along to some of the all time favorite songs while using some cool instruments like bells, drums, triangles, and more to find the rhythm and keep the beat. A great way for your child to learn to hear different sounds while interacting with other children. Students will even make thier own instruments to bring home. Class takes place at the Recreation Center.

Open to adults 30+ on Monday mornings at the Rec. Center. Pickleball is a racquet sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer wiffleball. All equipment is provided so be ready to have fun.

Focus of this class is on stress release and re-energizing of body and mind.  Class Taught by : Terri Cain, BFA, MA, MDiv, certified Kripalu Yoga instructor; has lead students for over 20 years. Inspiration for her yoga classes comes from her background in dance, intensive training in Dance Therapy and Movement Analysis with Irmgard Bartenieff, founder of the Laban Institute of Movement Studies, studies in the Alexander Technique, and an ongoing exploration of spirituality and the arts (Master of Divinity -Yale/ Institute of Sacred Music.) Terri teaches group and private yoga for all ages. She brings her yoga off the mat as President of Guilford Community TV, and as Founding Partner and Manager of the Hubbard Community Garden at the Medad Stone Tavern

We offer several programs throughout the year for children in grades K-4th Goodwin Elementary School and 5th-8th grade at The Rec to make some cool Arts-N-Crafts projects.  Each week we will make a new project to bring home and share with the whole family or put up on the fridge!!

Your child can enjoy this program that will teach the basic skills needed to play the sport. Class will feature 20 minutes of skill building and 25 minutes of game play All equipment is provided. Sticks are soft for safety reasons. Players must wear non-marking white soled sneakers.

Looking for something fun and new to try... try Modern Western Square Dancing.  OSPR is now offering square dancing!  This fun and easy going program that is just as much social as it is physical.  There is skill progression learning new calls through the weeks.  This program meets in the cafeteria at Goodwin Elementary.

Your child can enjoy this program that will teach the basic skills needed to play the sport. Class will feature 20 minutes of skill building and 25 minutes of game play All equipment is provided. Sticks are soft for safety reasons. Players must wear non-marking white soled sneakers.

Every March, OSPR teams up with the coaches, managers and volunteers with Old Saybrook Little League to bring you spring training.  This four week program is geared to get you ready for the spring season and for our younger athletes to get you some extra practice before the season begins.All sessions are lead by OSLL coaches and managers.  All sessions take place at The Rec.

7:00 PM - 8:30 PM    Adult Basketball - 25+ Basketball
Adult basketball on Monday and Tuesday nights at the Rec. are free to Old Saybrook Residents, and residents may bring a guest for a $2 admission cost.  Pick-up style basketball starts at 7pm and goes till 8:30.  Monday nights is for the 18+ ball players and Tuesday night is reserved for the 25+ plus crowd.  For any questions please contact the Rec.

2:45 AM - 5:30 AM    6th - 8th Grade Teen Center Membership - Full Membership (Includes Friday Night)
The Teen Center is a drop-in program at the OSPR Recreation Center behind Town Hall and adjacent to the Old Saybrook Middle School.  It is a supervised setting where your child can interact with peers and develop social skills and relationships.  We have a wide variety of activities and games offered daily.  Members are able to use the Teen Center lounge and game tables, the gym, as well as the outside basketball courts and baseball field.Members may attend the Rec Monday-Thursday from 2:30pm-5:30pm, starting on Tuesday, September 3rd. Friday Night Teen Center,7:00pm-9:30pm, starting on Friday, September 13th1/2 Days on Monday - Thursday - TC 11:55am to 5:30pmPlease print out the form from the link below and return to office before you child attends the first time.
 
3:15 AM - 4:00 PM    PeeWee Basketball - PeeWee Basketball Grade 1
Children in grades 1 will be exposed to the basic skills required in the game of basketball. Learn dribbling, shooting, passing, teamwork and how to give the high five. Program meets for 5 weeks after school at Goodwin from 3:15—4:00PM.
 
3:00 PM - 3:45 PM    Indoor Soccer - Afterschool Indoor Soccer
Join OSPR for an afternoon of indoor, Futsal, Soccer at the Rec.  Right after school, for an hour in the gym, kids will get right into pick up style games and follow futsal, small sided rules. 
 
5:30 PM - 6:45 PM    Adult Pickleball - Young Adult Pickleball on Wednesday Nights
Open to adults 30+ on Monday mornings at the Rec. Center. Pickleball is a racquet sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer wiffleball. All equipment is provided so be ready to have fun.
 
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM    Sound Steppers at Goodwin - Sound Steppers at Goodwin
Looking for something fun and new to try... try Modern Western Square Dancing.  OSPR is now offering square dancing!  This fun and easy going program that is just as much social as it is physical.  There is skill progression learning new calls through the weeks.  This program meets in the cafeteria at Goodwin Elementary.

Join OSPR for our annual Adult Kickball League.  Games are played at the Rec. Center with some fun and interesting home court rules.  Only the Team Captain needs to register.  There will be a mandatory Captain's meeting before the season starts.  Each participant will need to sign a waiver in order to play.
