Youth Basketball League - 2nd - 3rd Grade Boys Basketball: Alabama @ Gonzaga Old Saybrook Parks & Recreation Youth Basketball program begins in January with practices and games and runs for (7) weeks. This basketball program is open to boys & girls in grades 2nd - 8th of all abilities. All players receive a shirt and loads of fun. Players will be divided up by gender into 3 different grade divisions. Grades 2nd & 3rd, Grades 4th & 5th, and Grades 6th - 8th. Teams will have weekly practices and games will be played on Saturday mornings at the Recreation Center. Divisions are subject to change based on registration numbers.Interested in Coaching? The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer wiffleball.In our OPEN PLAY programs players are required to play with all skill levels and not cut in the paddle line.This program is for players who have played or have a complete understanding of rules and the sport.
