Gentle Yoga
This gentle yoga class is accessible to all levels with variations offered that encourage individual adaptations to fit every body. Starting with opening meditation and breath work, class progresses through warm up exercises to unlock tensions and ignite inner power. Creative sequencing of basic yoga postures focuses on mind-body connections, core strength, balance, flexibility, and the joy of movement.
Beach Yoga (Ages 18+)
Explore yoga in the relaxed setting of Harvey’s Beach. Find calm as we breath in unison with the waves…energize with gentle stretching and flowing yoga postures…and increase your stability with balances on the sand! All levels of experience and fitness are welcome. Bring a large beach towel or blanket and water.
Gentle Yoga
- Class takes place at the Vicki Duffy Pavilion at 155 College St. Old Saybrook, CT 06475.
- Classes meet on Monday and Thursdays.
- Participants should bring: yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks, a strap, a blanket or thick towel.
Yoga Instructor - Terri Cain
A certified Kripalu Yoga teacher, Terri creates a supportive space for participants to develop their own unique yoga practice through deeper body/mind awareness. Her teaching is informed by her intensive training in dance and background in movement analysis and therapy, in which she holds BFA and MA degrees. Terri’s classes are noted for the clarity of her instruction, emphasis on safe alignment, creative sequencing and skillful themes. She has been teaching on the Shoreline since 2007.
