Field hockey battle for ball control
A five-week field hockey clinic where Old Saybrook youth can participate and learn the fundamentals of the sport in a fun environment. This program was inspired by a current high school senior, Kate Molesky, who has been a vital member of the Old Saybrook High School field hockey team. With the noticeably low numbers of interested participants in the middle school and an inability of interested students to participate, Kate wanted to provide younger kids in our community with the opportunity to play and become acquainted with field hockey. The program will be held once a week by the High school assistant coach Alexa Mulvihill and senior captain Kate Molesky, with various other high school team members volunteering as well.

      1. Become oriented with the sport of field hockey as a fall sport athletic option
      2. Learn the basic rules and skills of the sport in a fun environment
      3. Get to work with the high school coaching staff and player volunteers who want to share their love for the game
